Why use DAH's Movie Database?

How do I join?
- Go to DAH Movie Registration And enter your information.
- Fill in all the options, those marked with * are required.
- Your Email address must be a fully qualified email address (include the @domain.thing), such as YYxxxx@messiah.edu
How do I check out movies?
- Become a Registered User, and Login
- Browse to the page of the movie you want
- If it is available, there will be an option beside the user's who have the movie to check their copy out.
- An email will be sent to the person who's movie you selected. if you want a faster response, you can try reaching them at their extension, listed on the Users page.
- The Owner of the Movie is the only one able to mark a movie as returned on the database, this is done from "My Page".
What if I want to add my own movies?
- Once you are registered, Login
- Go to the Add Movie Link
- Use www.IMDB.com for formatting movie titles, this keeps them consistent
- Enter the movie title into the form
- Each IMDB link has a 7 digit number as part of its link, for example, the matrix is http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0133093/
- Enter this 7 digit number in the appropriate field
- Select the Medium, be it DVD, VHS, or a TV series
- Select any extra information, such as directors cut, extended edition, special editions, etc
- Note: your username is automatically added to each movie you submit
- Note: if a movie is already in the DB, make sure you enter the title to be the same as the other, and you can skip entering the IMDB link as it is already in the DB. But still specify what medium it is on and any extra info.
How do I Edit Stuff?
- Any logged in User can edit Movie Titles and information.
- To Edit Anything else, you must be an owner of said thing.
- If you are editing a Movie Title to be the same as Another Title, the DB won't let you do that.
- To do this you must be an owner of the movie, and Delete that instance of it and re-add it with the correctly formated Title.
How do I Delete a Movie?
- To Delete a Movie you Must be an owner of said Movie.
- You can only Delete Movie Instances (ie, under user xxx has movie)
- If you are the only user with said Movie, then the Movie itself will automatically be deleted when you Delete your instance of it.
Size Limits on entry fields
- UserName, Location, Email = 25 characters
- Password = 16 characters
- MovieName = 150 characters
